The delightful Larmer Tree Christmas Fair will take place during the first weekend of December. Now in the 6th year, Larmer Tree offers an opportunity for a selection of local crafters, companies, and producers to showcase their products.
The Christmas Fair takes places within the Victorian Jubilee Hall and New Pavilion but visitors also have the chance to walk through the beautiful gardens that were laid out by General Augustus Pitt Rivers back in 1880.
Entry charges are Adults £4.00, Seniors £3.00 and Children under 12 free of charge. The fee includes a warming welcome drink of mulled wine, mulled cider or spiced apple juice.
Larmer Tree’s fabulous in-house caterers will be providing delicious festive fayre throughout the event.Grab a mince pie, a slice of stollen or delicious sausage roll to eat on the move or sit down for a mouth-watering snack or lunch.
On Friday evening the adorable Abbey Primary School Choir opens the fair, entertaining visitors with charming renditions of modern and classic festive songs and carols.Over the course of the weekend musicians will be dropping in to entertain, including Wilton & District Brass Band and the Shaftesbury Ukulele Band.
‘The Naughty Christmas Tree’ will be visiting on Saturday 3rd December. The Naughty Christmas Tree does not want to be decorated and would rather play silly games, like hide and seek. We need children’s help to make sure that the tree is decorated in time for Christmas.
There is a huge selection of Christmas shopping on offer this year and to keep the children interested, we are delighted that Elm Tree Studio will be supervising pottery painting again this year. For a small charge, children can decorate pottery as a special personalised Christmas gift. The pieces are taken away for firing and are then available for collection the following week, so if you are struggling to find the perfect gift, this could be a brilliant and unique solution. Also, Alpaca Adventures will be bringing their fabulous Alpacas to add to the festive atmosphere.
As a tradition, we always like to support a charity at Christmas and this year it is the turn of the Teddy20.This Blandford based charity offers financial and emotional support to children and families undergoing treatment for cancer.Any help you can give at Christmas or throughout the year, would be most appreciated.
To sum up, this is an exceptionally festive and jolly event that gains in popularity with traders and visitors each year and we would love to welcome you to Larmer Tree this Christmas.
